Should You Completely Remodel Your Kitchen?

I often talk with sellers who think it is necessary to completely remodel their kitchen—top to bottom, spending thousands of dollars in order to sell their home. This is rarely necessary. Most of the time, adding a few new elements is all that is necessary. Instead of replacing the cupboards, could you paint them and add new hardware and countertops instead? Take a trip to your local Ikea—check out their kitchen showrooms and add the elements that could work in your kitchen.  No longer cute or fussy, today’s kitchens are sleek and spare. Buy, beg, or borrow a few higher end accessories, i.e. a Keurig coffee maker, a high-end mixer, a gourmet cookbook and you’re set to sell.
